Feb 10, 2011 Re: Vox Pathfinder LED Mod. AFAIK the real problems of that amp, desperately and actually needing some modifications, were the tremolo optocoupler and the power amp IC. If I recall right, both components were rated for a bit too low supply voltage and were henceforth more.
Equipment New Amp! VOX Pathfinder 10. Partnership Jack Small Release.
This is what I determined to buy myself on Black Friday because unfortunately I missed out on the $400 VOX Air conditioner15 on Sweetwater. Therefore, I noticed this on MusiciansFriend and selected this VOX Pathfinder 10 instead!
It has been only $70. There was a reddish colored one for $80 but I like the white a little even more than the reddish but the England flag is a little cheesy. Maybe I could modify the grill to a normal VOX style myself? Seems it would end up being rather challenging.
Nevertheless, the amp sounds great for a practice amp and it furthermore handles hold off and modulation results very properly. My BD-2 noises like farts through it but it will be a little practice amp and I've heard VOX amps are usually very picky with overdrive pedals.
This can be my first VOX amp and it just makes me need an Air conditioning unit10 or Air conditioning unit15 also more now but after viewing that Air conditioning unit15 for $400 I experience like I'm getting sculpted off investing $450 for an AC10 and also even more for an Air cooling15.
Inappropriate entire world.

Help with Vox Pathfinder mods.
X-posted from a less useful subreddit.
Hey all. I lately got a Vox Pathfinder 10. I like the clear channel, but I put on't really use the distortion route (I have got too many distortion pedals to make use of an 'ehhh' ss distortion station lol).
Anyway, I possess noticed about two mods that could probably make the second channel a bit more helpful to me. The 1st is the (in)famous Brought mod, which is definitely acquiring out the cutting LEDs. I have heard a great deal of blended evaluations on this.
The second is usually the R8 mod, which supposedly adds quantity by using out a resistor (right here: http://bencraven.com/?p=1742 ).
So, since I'd like to make the second channel even more of a boosted channel, which would be much better / which one does anybody have any knowledge with? Any information would be nice.
Also the LEDs in this amp are usually flat to the pcb. which makes basic snipping them a great deal more challenging. Any suggestions on that?
